Keeping it in the family! The Chippery is owned by Tessa the daughter of Steve and Alison Owen who own the award winning Fish Tram Chips in Llandudno.
The Chippery offers customers a truly British fish and chip experience, with the companies aim to make fish and chips just as they should be – simple, fresh and tasty!
We offer a range of sustainable fish, freshly cut chips and homemade mushy peas…. Which you can enjoy at home or in our retro style café.
We source Maris Piper potatoes from a local potato merchant, we peel and cut our potatoes ourselves fresh everyday (no pre-cut chips in our shop!) We twice fry, blanching gently to maintain flavour then flash frying; double frying gives the chips that crunchy exterior and fluffy, well-flavoured interior that defines a classic chip.
We don’t serve thin fries or gastropub fat chips; we just serve the traditional British chip!
Fish and chips no longer has to mean cod and chips, at The Chippery we offer a range of fish all from sustainable sources. So if you fancy something different, we feature haddock, plaice and hake on our menu….for those traditionalists cod is also featured.
We cook fish to order (in fact all our food is cooked fresh to order) so that it isn’t left to dry out or the batter to go soggy in the top box like in so many chip shops.
All our fish is lightly coated in our golden, crispy batter and as it’s cooked fresh no soggy bottoms!
We fry our food in a premium vegetable oil, our oil is additive free no hydrogenated oils and has less than 1% of trans-fatty acids. We filter our oils every day to ensure we are always using the best quality oil, no smelly old oil in our shop!
We also only fry fish and chips in our range, all meat products are cooked separately so we can cater to more of our customer’s dietary requirements.
The environment – our used oil is collected and re-cycled!
